2023 5th OrneHaneul Law Firm Customer Appreciation Breakfast Event

OrneHaneul Law Firm (Represented by Attorney Lee Jong-min) held a breakfast event on November 15, 2023, at the Ambassador Seoul Pullman Hotel to enhance understanding across various industries. The event aimed to provide a platform for our attorneys and clients to engage, fostering mutual exchange and knowledge sharing. We invited experts to deliver lectures before facilitating discussions. Approximately 60 clients graced our event, and we extend sincere gratitude to those who took the time to attend amidst their busy schedules. Prior to the lectures, there was an introduction to our collaboration with WFW UK Law Firm and Attorney Philip Kim. Established in 1982 in the UK, WFW Law Firm is a global entity with offices worldwide, specializing in energy, trade, M&A, and excelling particularly in the Asian market since 1998. This occasion allowed us to present our clients with insights into the overseas law firm collaborating with OrneHaneul Law Firm, a meaningful introduction indeed. The lecture at this event featured Mr. Jang Seok-jun, current CEO and Founder of Lakebridge Equity Partners, under the theme "Thrilling Stories of Private Equity Investment." Lakebridge Equity Partners, LLC, founded by Mr. Jang Seok-jun, operates as an independent private equity fund management company with offices in Seoul, South Korea, and New York, USA. The company focuses on investing in growth capital, growth M&A financing, and related areas for small and medium-sized enterprises in Korea and North America. During his presentation, Mr. Jang Seok-jun provided insights into cases he directly invested in, explaining the circumstances, investment factors, and outcomes in a comprehensible manner. He delved into the fundamental structure of private equity funds (PE) and the spectrum of PE investments. The global private equity market continues to grow, with South Korea experiencing an annual increase of approximately 20% in available funds. Mr. Jang emphasized the understandable content of the lecture, catering to clients interested in receiving investments and those intrigued by private equity funds, resulting in a highly engaging session. After the lecture, the interactive communication between attendees and clients created a meaningful post-event networking session. With the conclusion of this breakfast event for OrneHaneul Law Firm in 2023, we express our gratitude for the warm support received. We look forward to making more diverse and engaging arrangements for knowledge exchange in various fields in the upcoming 2024 events. Thank you for your continued interest.

2023 OrneHaneul Law Firm Customer Appreciation Breakfast Event

OrneHaneul Law Firm (Represented by Attorney Lee Jong-min) held a breakfast event on September 20, 2023, at Ambassador Seoul Pullman Hotel. The event aimed to enhance understanding across various industries and provide a platform for our attorneys and clients to engage, fostering mutual exchange. We express our sincere gratitude to the approximately 40 clients who took the time to attend and illuminated the event with their presence, despite their busy schedules. For this breakfast gathering, we had the honor of hosting Professor Jang Sun-hee (currently a research professor at Hongik University's College of Fine Arts). The theme of the lecture was 'What does contemporary Art do? Life and Death of Works of Art.' It was an enlightening session that provided insights into contemporary art, a subject that may be perceived as challenging. Professor Jang Sun-hee explored the concept that, like human life, artworks also have their own life cycles and can experience natural or accidental ends. She delved into how artists employ various methods to extend the life of their works. The lecture offered a unique perspective that we don't often contemplate in our everyday thinking. The presentation on contemporary art, not easily accessible in our daily lives, provided a fresh start to the day. Following the lecture, engaging discussions with attending clients added to the meaningfulness of the event. We look forward to your continued interest in our next Customer Appreciation Breakfast Event scheduled for November 15, 2023, Wednesday. Thank you.

[Attorney Gong Il-gyu] Participation as Designated Discussant in the Seminar on 'South American FTA Country of Origin Investigations'

Attorney Gong Il-gyu participated as a designated discussant in the seminar on 'Current Status and Challenges of Country of Origin Investigations under the South American (Chile, Peru, Colombia) FTAs,' held by the Seoul Regional Customs Society on September 6, 2023. The seminar aimed to share the current state of trade with Chile, Peru, and Colombia through FTAs, discussing the progress and issues related to the ongoing country of origin investigations for agricultural products imported from these three countries. As a designated discussant, Attorney Gong Il-gyu expressed the opinion that, considering the spirit of FTA to activate trade, country of origin investigations should also be conducted in a direction that promotes active trade between the countries. He emphasized the need for transparency in the issuance process of certificates of origin to prevent our domestic companies importing agricultural products from suffering unforeseen damages, suggesting that discussions between the countries involved are necessary. OrneHaneul Law Firm is committed to providing the best legal services to clients engaging in trade through FTAs, ensuring smooth trade activities.
